Meet the Coaches

Our coaches are more than qualified to provide a meaningful and fun experience for your child. Combined, all coaches have over 40 years of baseball experience. Along side these 3 head coaches, there will be a group of Kinnelon Highschool baseball players to help out and share their skills and knowledge

Gavin Freda

Head Coach

Gavin is currently a student at Indiana University where he is studying Entrepreneurship and is playing high level club baseball at IU. Gavin was a varsity captain and an All-Conference player his senior year at Kinnelon. Gavin also played 8 years of high-level club baseball. This year will be his 2nd year running this camp.

  • Coached 10u Club Baseball for 3 years

  • Assistant at KHS Baseball Camp for 3 years

  • Head Counselor at Kinnelon Rec Camp

  • 5 years of Child Care Experience at the Goddard School

  • CPR/First Aid Certified

Mitchell Mauriello

Assistant Coach

Mitch is currently a student at Bucknell University studying statistics. Mitch was a Letterman and Starting Outfielder for the 2021 KHS state champion runner up team. Mitch has also played high level club ball for 7 years. Mitch is also a competitive weightlifter and is a certified trainer and yoga/mobility instructor.

Christian Less

Assistant Coach

Christian Less is currently a first year Business student at Clemson University. Christian was a 3 year Varsity player and played high level club ball for 8 years. Christian was the starting center fielder for the Conference Championship Kinnelon Colts. Christian has also been a counselor at the Kinnelon Rec Camp for the last 4 years.

Pat Walega

Assistant Coach

Pat is currently a starting pitcher at Division 1 Lafayette College. Pat threw 35 innings this year as a freshman. Pat was ranked the #11 RHP out of NJ for his grade and #480 in the nation. Pat was born and raised in Kinnelon, and is excited to join us for his second year at camp.
